Everybody wants to know how it all started and how I realised
that I could read tarot cards.
It was a long and unexpected journey. When my second husband
left me at the age of 35, my entire world collapsed around me.
For almost two years I never stopped crying. Everything in my
life felt broken and uncertain.
During this difficult period, a close friend who read tarot cards
did my very first reading and told me that one day I would help
many people through tarot. At the time, I was extremely sceptical
because I knew nothing about tarot reading.
While going through my divorce, she gifted me my very first tarot
deck along with a book explaining the meanings of the cards.
What started as a distraction from pain slowly became something
far more meaningful.
I began studying the cards deeply, and about a year later I started
reading for family and close friends. From there, everything simply
grew naturally into what Tarot Whisperings is today.
Looking back now, I believe God allowed me to go through those
difficult experiences so that I could better understand pain,
healing, emotional struggles, and ultimately help others who
are facing challenges in their own lives.
This all began more than 20 years ago, and throughout those years
I never stopped reading tarot cards or helping people through
spiritual guidance and emotional insight.
My faith has always been deeply important to me. I am a Christian,
and at the age of 19 I attended Bible College. I know this may
confuse some people, but I have never hidden my faith and never
will. I believe my relationship with God is personal, and I trust
that He guides me in the work I do.
I believe that God works through me to help others. The day I stop
believing that is the day I will walk away from tarot completely.
Any gift I have comes from Him, and all praise belongs to Him.
I am what many call a “light reader,” meaning I connect deeply
with people on an emotional and spiritual level. Because of this,
readings can sometimes be emotionally draining, and I continue
learning how to protect and balance my energy outside of readings.
I am also an empath — someone who naturally feels and absorbs the
emotions and energies of others. Empaths often sense emotional,
spiritual, and energetic changes very deeply, even when those
feelings are not their own.
Being an empath allows me to connect strongly with the people I
read for, helping me understand emotions, intentions, fears,
struggles, and spiritual energies on a much deeper level.
Standing beside me through this journey is my life partner of
nearly 20 years, Danie. He has always been my biggest supporter,
encourager, and believer in what I do. I truly cannot imagine
walking this path without him.
